Area Rug Sale

When it comes to area rug sales, cheap just means inexpensive. Cheap does not have to mean shoddy. In times of economic uncertainty, the word cheap takes on a whole new meaning. Finding area rug sales has never been easier and in spite of what many people think, a high price does not always guarantee high quality. Bargain hunters are always looking for a great deal and cheap area rugs are high the list. Decorating with area rugs can enhance any room decor. This is true whether you are decorating on a budget and want a value good value for your hard earned money.

The reality is that there are cheap area rugs that are cheaply made. Thread bare and not well constructed, cheaply made area rugs are no bargain at all. Smart shoppers will always look to how area rugs are constructed before they buy. Finding a good deal on a good quality area rug is as close as your computer.

Knowing what to look for in an area rug can mean the difference between a real value and a real rip off. For example, genuine hand-knotted oriental rugs can be an expensive investment. Hiding among expensive, genuine oriental rugs, the market is full of fakes and cheap knockoffs so do your homework before investing in a genuine oriental rug. If you are on a budget, the very same look can be had by purchasing a cheaper oriental style woven rug. Remember to always use care when buying a rug that the seller claims is a genuine oriental rug.

Cheap But Not Cheaply Made

Now cheap area rugs do have some limitations. When paying a bargain price for a quality rug do not expect to get a rug made from hand tied wool. Most less-expensive area rugs are made from synthetic materials like polyester or polypropylene. Polypropylene is a widely used fiber that is used to make a wide variety of fabric-based products. Polypropylene fibers are a great choice for weaving durable area rugs. Polypropylene is color fast and is used as an alternative to polyvinylchloride, PVC, based materials.

Despite being inexpensive, synthetic materials have become somewhat controversial in recent years. Synthetics like polypropylene are plastic based materials and the production cycle for plastic begins with oil. The good news is that a market for recycled synthetics has been growing steadily. Recycled materials ease the burden on the environment and you still get a good value on a quality area rug.

Polypropylene has good recycle properties and is often made from recycled material. Millions of square yards of used carpet materials are now recycled every year. Polypropylene is now made with far fewer virgin materials and a much higher amount of recycled plastic. This is a tremendous advance in the production of synthetic fibers and fabrics. Not only does the use of recycled plastics help reduce the need for oil but the practice also keeps many millions of pounds of discarded plastic material out of the local landfill.
